The King Philip Trail Riders is one of the oldest and most active off-road riding clubs of its type in New England and dates back to the 1960’s. With a focus of promoting the sport to enthusiasts, local and state agencies, and the general public, KPTR actively works with the community to help ensure our off-road recreational opportunities remain available.
KPTR has signed a Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding to maintain several parts of the F. Gilbert Hills State Forest (Foxboro, Wrentham, & Franklin). August 15, 1996 was the original date of the agreement, which we have renewed several times since. Our dedication and involvement keeps trails in this area open to motorcycle usage from May 1st through November. We are also the second recipients to be issued a “Special Use Permit” to organize an off-road motorcycle event on MA DEM land, the 1973 ISDT was the first permit and it went to Al Eames.
Fast forward to current times and the members of the KPTR crew still meet on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at the American Legion in Wrentham. Meetings typically start at 7:30 pm where you will find President Paul Remington (President for life) one of the original founders of KPTR still calling meetings to order and running the show. The King Philip Trail Riders gladly welcome any visitors, curious folks, or anyone looking to join the club at meetings. Use the Contact Form if you need more information.
